To set up your NGN virtual account, you need your BVN (Bank Verification Number) and date of birth. You must also be a KYC-approved VeloRemit customer.
All you need is your BVN (Bank Verification Number) to create your Naira account. Open your VeloRemit app, tap “Add NGN Account” on your home screen, select “NGN Virtual Account”, then tap “Begin”. Enter your BVN and date of birth, accept the consent statement and tap “Submit”. Once your BVN is successfully verified, your NGN virtual account will be created, and you will be notified by email when it is ready.

Tap “Fund NGN” on your home screen and follow the on-screen instructions to fund your naira account. Once your virtual account is successfully funded, tap “Transfer GBP”. Enter the amount, then add or select your UK bank account. Review the rate and confirm your transfer.

For UK customers sending naira to their UK bank account, the minimum transfer amount is ₦20,000.
An MTN Mobile Money wallet in Ghana can only hold up to 10,000 cedis at a time. If your transfer would exceed this limit, it may not be delivered immediately. Once the recipient makes a withdrawal and the wallet balance is under the limit, the transfer will be delivered within seconds. If not, we will automatically retry daily until it goes through.
